Juice of the morning

2 large carrots
1 inch of ginger root
small bunch of mint leaves
1 orange

New Year

I was doing so great with my juicing/eating healthy kick right before I went to Ohio for a weekend, but after I came back, the holiday's were in full effect and my will power went right out the window.  Now, I'm feeling like crap and am a little sick.

Yesterday, the last of the carrot cake disappeared, so today there's nothing in my house that is bad for me.  We went grocery shopping and got a ton of stuff to get back to juicing and I have plenty of stock to make soups.  In fact, yesterday I made the Minestrone soup from the most recent issue of Everyday Food.

I told my husband that we've both got to lose 20lbs by the middle of next year.  Now, I probably need to lose 30.  ; ( We have to make a weekly game plan for dinner and stick with it in order to do this.  This doesn't bother me, but he's not always in the mood for what I plan, which makes it really hard to do this.

Here are some options for meal plans that I've come up with:

Breakfast:
Juice
Maybe 1 piece of whole wheat toast with 1 tbsp almond butter

Snack:
Yogurt or Cheese slice with Apple
Granola
Green Juice

Lunch:
Salad with Tuna or Chicken
Soups

Dinner:
Chicken Salads
Soups - Minestrone with Kale, Cabbage & Lentil,
Spaghetti squash spaghetti
Linguine with poached egg

Then there's working out, which I used to have a love affair with and a slight obsession.  After I went to Maine last summer, I got totally unmotivated and it makes me really sad I let myself do that.  My energy level went down dramatically after I stopped working out.  My new plan is that if I can't work out after work, to go on my lunch break.  I have to get it fit in some way or another.

Here's to a new year and a new me 20lbs lighter.
